Instructions
- Whisk flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Add milk and egg, stirring until smooth.
- Fold in chopped onions until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in skillet to 350°F.
- Spoon batter into pan in heaping tablespoons, flatten slightly.
- Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
