These Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are spicy, creamy, juicy, and grilled to perfection. Perfect for summer barbecues or quick weeknight dinners, they’re slathered in a bold homemade bang bang sauce that’s sweet, tangy, and packs the perfect amount of heat.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs (cut into chunks)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional for heat)
  • Wooden or metal skewers

For Bang Bang Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp lime juice (optional)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, garlic, and sriracha to create a marinade.
  • Add chicken chunks and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
  • While the chicken marinates, whisk together the bang bang sauce ingredients in a separate bowl and refrigerate.
  • Soak wooden skewers in water (if using). Thread marinated chicken onto skewers.
  • Grill over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • Alternatively, bake at 425°F for 18–20 minutes or air fry at 400°F for 10–12 minutes.
  • Brush skewers generously with bang bang sauce while hot, reserving extra for dipping.
  • Serve immediately with rice, slaw, or salad.

Notes

  • Substitute chicken breast if preferred.
  • Greek yogurt can be used instead of mayo for a lighter sauce.
  • Garnish with chopped green onion or cilantro for freshness.
  • For a sweeter twist, add grilled pineapple chunks between chicken pieces.
