- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly.
- Bring to a boil and cook until mixture reaches 245°F (firm ball stage).
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and salt.
- Pour into greased 9×9-inch pan and let cool.
- Cut into squares and wrap in wax paper.
Notes
- Use a candy thermometer for best results.
- Optional: Add chopped nuts or drizzle with chocolate before cooling.
- Store in airtight container or freeze for later use.
