- 3 cups cooked rotisserie chicken, shredded
- 1 ½ cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (or mozzarella/cheddar blend)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed Ritz crackers
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together flour and milk until thickened.
- Stir in cream cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Layer shredded chicken in the baking dish, then add ham on top.
- Pour cheese sauce evenly over meat layers.
- Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese over the top.
- In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can make this casserole ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
- Use Gruyère or a mix of cheeses for deeper flavor.
- Add cooked pasta or hash browns at the base for a heartier dish.
