Sweet Hawaiian rolls filled with savory deli chicken, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a flavorful herb butter. Imagine biting into a warm, cheesy, and utterly satisfying slider. This easy recipe is perfect for beginner cooks, requiring minimal prep and delivering maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Hawaiian dinner rolls
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli chicken
  • 8 slices crispy cooked bacon
  • 12 slices cheddar cheese
  • ⅓ cup ranch dressing

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Using parchment paper or cooking spray prevents the sliders from sticking to the baking sheet.
  • Make the Herb Butter: In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, dried parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried dill. Set aside. Combining the herb butter ingredients allows the flavors to meld together.
  • Slice the Rolls and Prepare the Base: Slice the Hawaiian dinner rolls horizontally through the middle, creating a top and bottom layer. Place the bottom layer of rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the bottom layer of rolls with about 2 tablespoons of the seasoned butter. Brushing the rolls with herb butter adds flavor and prevents them from becoming soggy.
  • Layer the Fillings: Begin and end with cheese, adding layers of deli chicken, bacon, and cheese. Drizzle the ranch dressing over the bacon before adding the final layer of cheese. Layering the ingredients strategically ensures that the sliders are balanced and flavorful.
  • Add the Top Layer and Brush with Herb Butter: Add the top layer of Hawaiian rolls to the sliders. Pour the remaining seasoned butter over the top of the sliders. Brushing the top of the rolls with herb butter adds flavor and helps them to brown beautifully.
  • Bake the Sliders: Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the sliders are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Covering the sliders with foil during the first part of baking prevents them from drying out.
  • Slice and Serve: Cut the sliders apart and serve them warm. These sliders are best enjoyed fresh.

Notes

  • Use your favorite deli chicken and cheese.
  • Cook bacon until crispy.
