Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar + 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar. Stir in egg and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until just combined.
  4. Spread batter into the pan. Mix topping sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle on top.
  5. Bake for 22–25 minutes until edges are set. Cool before slicing.

Notes
