This Easy Tomato Spinach Ravioli Bake is a simple, layered casserole perfect for busy weeknights. Tender ravioli, rich marinara, and melted cheese make a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (25 oz) package frozen or fresh ravioli (cheese or spinach-filled)
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce (or your favorite pasta sauce)
  • 4 cups fresh spinach, washed and roughly chopped
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, for greasing the pan
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures it’s nice and hot when your casserole goes in.
  • Prepare Your Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Layer 1: Sauce: Start by spreading 1/3 of the marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. This creates a base layer.
  • Layer 2: Ravioli: Add half of the ravioli in a single layer on top of the sauce. This adds the first pasta layer.
  • Layer 3: Spinach: Top the ravioli with 2 cups of spinach. This adds the vegetable layer.
  • Layer 4: Cheese: Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese over the spinach. This adds the first cheese layer.
  • Layer 5: Sauce and Ravioli: Add another 1/3 of the marinara sauce, followed by the remaining ravioli. This adds the second pasta layer.
  • Layer 6: Spinach: Add the rest of the spinach. This adds the second vegetable layer.
  • Layer 7: Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top. This adds the final cheese layer.
  • Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. After that, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and lightly browned. This cooks the ravioli and melts the cheese.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Allow the bake to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired. This allows the cheese to set and prevents burning.

Notes

  • Use a preheated oven for even baking.
  • Don’t overfill the baking dish.
  • Adjust seasonings to taste.
  • Use fresh or frozen ravioli.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs
