Ingredients
Scale
2 lbs skirt steak
Salt & pepper to taste
6 tsp garlic, minced
6 tbsp butter
½ cup chopped parsley
Instructions
Prepare the Steak:
Cut steak to fit into your skillet. This ensures even cooking and allows the steak to sear properly.
Pat dry and season with salt, and pepper on both sides. This removes excess moisture, allowing the steak to sear properly and develop a flavorful crust.
Sear the Steak:
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until very hot. This creates a hot surface for searing the steak, ensuring a flavorful crust and proper cooking.
Add the steak and brown both sides for about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or cook until desired doneness. This ensures a flavorful crust and proper cooking, resulting in a tender and juicy steak.
Note: To check the doneness of the steak, use a meat thermometer. For medium-rare, the internal temperature should reach 130-135°F (54-57°C). This ensures the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness. Place steaks on a plate and let rest. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
In another skillet, melt butter over low heat. This prevents the butter from burning and ensures a smooth, even sauce.
Add in the minced garlic. With a spatula, stir garlic around until it starts to brown. This releases the garlic’s aromatic oils, creating a fragrant and flavorful sauce.
Remove it from heat and transfer it to a bowl immediately. This prevents the garlic from overcooking and burning, ensuring a flavorful sauce. Careful not to overcook it will burn fast.
Assemble and Serve:
Slice steak against the grain. This ensures a more tender bite, as skirt steak has long muscle fibers.
Pour over garlic butter. This coats the steak with the flavorful sauce, enhancing its taste and texture.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately. This adds freshness and visual appeal, creating a beautiful and delicious dish.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
Don’t overcrowd the skillet while searing.
Keep garlic butter on low heat to prevent burning.
