- 1 bone-in spiral ham (8-10 lbs)
- 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- Whole cloves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Score ham in a criss-cross pattern and place in roasting pan.
- In saucepan, combine orange juice, brown sugar, honey, zest, and optional spices. Simmer 5–7 minutes.
- Brush glaze over ham and cover loosely with foil.
- Bake for 15 minutes per pound, basting with glaze every 30 minutes.
- Uncover for final 30 minutes to allow glaze to caramelize.
- Remove from oven, let rest 15 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use fresh orange juice for best flavor.
- For a deeper glaze, add a splash of bourbon.
- Leftovers make great sandwiches or breakfast hash.
