Ingredients
- Chicken thighs (800g)
- Flour (⅔ cup)
- Salt (1 tsp)
- Pepper (½ tsp)
- Garlic powder (1 tsp)
- Oil (3 tbsp)
- Honey (⅓ cup)
- Butter (100g)
- Garlic (2 cloves)
- Soy sauce (2 tbsp)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken Coating (The Coating Creation): In a large bowl or a large flat plate, mix together the flour, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure the spices are evenly distributed throughout the flour.
- Coat the Chicken (The Chicken Covering): Add the chicken chunks to the bowl or plate and coat them well with the flour mixture. Ensure each piece is evenly coated on all sides.
- Heat the Oil (The Oil Warming): Heat a large pan with oil over medium-high heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking. You can test the oil temperature by dropping a small piece of flour into it. If it sizzles immediately, the oil is ready.
- Cook the Chicken (The Chicken Cooking): Carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook on each side until they are crispy and golden brown on the outside and cooked through on the inside. This should take about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the chicken.
- Note: To check if the chicken is cooked through, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the chicken. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the Chicken (The Chicken Removal): Remove the cooked chicken from the pan and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
- Make the Sauce (The Sauce Synthesis): In the same pan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Add Sauce Ingredients (The Sauce Addition): Add the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic to the melted butter. Mix well and cook for about 2 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
- Add the Chicken to the Sauce (The Chicken Incorporation): Add the cooked chicken to the sauce and mix well, ensuring each piece is coated with the honey butter sauce.
- Cook Briefly (The Brief Baking): Cook for another minute or so to let the sauce cling to the crust and warm the chicken through.
- Serve Hot (The Serving Selection): Serve the Honey Butter Chicken hot and enjoy!
