- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional: crushed peppermint, nuts, or sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment and arrange saltines in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar. Boil 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour toffee over crackers and spread evenly. Bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit 2 minutes.
- Spread melted chocolate with a spatula until smooth.
- Top with optional crushed candy or nuts, if using.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.
- Break into pieces and serve or store.

- Use gluten-free crackers for GF version
- Freeze in layers for long-term storage
- Use vegan chocolate and butter for plant-based option
