Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla if using, then gradually add flour and salt. Mix until dough forms.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes wrapped in plastic wrap.
- Roll dough to 1/4-inch thick. Cut into shapes.
- Place cookies on baking sheet and prick with fork if desired.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until edges are slightly golden.
- Cool on tray for 10 minutes before transferring to wire rack.
