A luxurious pasta dish featuring Boursin cheese, heavy cream, and garlic. Simple ingredients, maximum flavor. Perfect for a quick and elegant meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz pasta
  • 5 oz Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup pasta water (reserved)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta:
    • Boil Water: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Salting the water seasons the pasta from the inside out.
    • Cook Pasta: Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Al dente pasta has a slight bite to it, preventing it from becoming mushy. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  • Prepare the Sauce:
    • Melt Butter: In a large pan over medium heat, melt butter. The butter creates a flavorful base for the sauce.
    • Sauté Garlic: Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Avoid burning the garlic, as it will become bitter and unpleasant.
    • Add Heavy Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. The cream adds richness and creaminess to the sauce, creating a velvety texture.
    • Melt Boursin Cheese: Add the Boursin cheese and stir until fully melted and smooth. The cheese will melt quickly and create a creamy, flavorful sauce.
  • Combine with Pasta:
    • Add Pasta Water: Slowly add reserved pasta water, stirring to loosen the sauce. The pasta water helps to emulsify the sauce and bind it to the pasta, creating a cohesive and harmonious dish.
    • Toss Pasta: Add drained pasta to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. Ensure all the pasta is coated in the creamy sauce for maximum flavor.
    • Season: Sprinkle in black pepper and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir in Parmesan cheese. The Parmesan cheese adds a salty, savory flavor and helps to thicken the sauce.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Taste and Adjust: Add salt if needed and adjust consistency with more pasta water if necessary. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning to your preference.
    • Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately. The fresh parsley adds a vibrant touch of color and aroma.
