These garlic butter bread rolls are soft, fluffy, and perfectly buttery. They pull apart effortlessly and are packed with fresh garlic flavor—ideal for weeknight dinners or holiday gatherings.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted (plus more for brushing)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  • Activate the yeast by combining it with warm milk and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, melted butter, and yeast mixture until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into balls and place in a greased 9×13 pan.
  • Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While warm, brush generously with garlic butter and serve hot.

Notes

  • Add a sprinkle of chopped parsley to your garlic butter for color and freshness.
  • These rolls freeze beautifully—just reheat in the oven and brush with more garlic butter.
  • You can also stuff them with cheese cubes before baking for a fun twist.
