- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Crumb Topping:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Mix dry ingredients separately. Add alternately with sour cream to wet mix.
- In another bowl, combine crumb topping ingredients using a fork or hands until crumbly.
- Pour batter into pan and top with crumb mixture.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temp.
Notes
- Use Greek yogurt if sour cream is unavailable.
- For added flavor, swirl in fruit jam or nuts.
- Store in airtight container up to 1 week or freeze slices individually.
