Ingredients

Pasta Layer
  • 16 oz Spaghetti
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 oz Cream cheese
  • 1 cup Cottage cheese
  • ½ cup Sour cream
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
Meat Sauce Layer
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 medium Yellow onion
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 24 oz Marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp Red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Topping Layer
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup Shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Cook spaghetti in boiling water for 8 to 9 minutes until al dente, then drain.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef and diced onion for 7 to 8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat, add garlic, and cook for another minute.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, tomato paste, and seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. For the cream cheese layer, blend softened cream cheese until smooth. Fold in cottage cheese, sour cream, and seasonings.
  5. Begin layering by placing butter in the baking dish, followed by half the spaghetti. Spread cream cheese mixture over spaghetti.
  6. Top with remaining spaghetti, place butter slices on top, and pour meat sauce over everything. Cover with foil.
  7. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake uncovered for 15 minutes. Optional: broil for 2-3 minutes for extra browning.
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
